    Pancha (Five) Bootham (Elements) Stalam (Place) dictates five temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, each representing the manifestation of the five prime elements of nature – land, air, water, sky, and fire. All of the five temples are located in southern part of India, four being in Tamil Nadu and one in Andhra Pradesh.

    Itinerary

    Day 1Chennai- Kalahasti

    Arrive Chennai; Pick up from the railway station or airport and proceed to Kalahasti. Check-in at the hotel and relax a while. Later proceed to visit Sri Kalastheeswara temple- which is situated in Chitoor district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The shivalinga here is referred to as Vaayulingam and it represents the element air. It is the only Pancha Bhootam Stalam located out of Tamil Nadu. Evening relax at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

    Day 2Kalahasti- Kanchipuram

    Today, after the breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Kanchipuram; Check-in at the hotel; Later proceed to visit Ekambareshwar Temple significantly specifies the element of earth or Prithvi. Legend has it that once Parvati, the consort of Shiva was cursed to become dark like Kali. She wanted to expatriate herself from the sin by doing penance under the temple’s ancient Mango tree near the Vegavathi river. In order to test her devotion, Shiva sent fire on her. Goddess Parvati prayed to her brother, Vishnu, for help. In order to save her, he took the Moon from Shiva’s head and showed the rays which then cooled down the tree as well as Parvati. Shiva again sent the river Ganga to disrupt Parvati’s penance. Parvati prayed to Ganga and convinced her that both of them were sisters and so should not harm her. Subsequently, Ganga did not disturb her penance and Parvati made a Shiva Linga out of sand to get united with Shiva. The God here came to be known as Ekambareswarar or “Lord of Mango Tree”.]Later visit other temple in Kanchipuram; Overnight stay at the hotel.

    Day 3Kanhcipuram- Tiruvannamalai

    Today, morning check out from Kanchipuram and drive to Tiruvannamalai. Check-in at the hotel. Later visit The Annamalaiyar temple. It is believed that Lord Shiva appeared here in his ardhanarishwar form (the half-female, half-male form of Shiva) to bless his devotees. The main lingam in the shrine is referred to as Agni Linga (element fire) and represents duty, virtue, self-sacrifice, and liberation through ascetic life at the end of the Agni kalpa. This temple complex covers 10 hectares and is believed to be the largest temple complex in the world dedicated to Shiva. The history of this Annamalayar temple dates back to thousand years. Overnight stay at the hotel.

    Day 4Tiruvannamalai- Chidambaram

    Today, after the breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Chidambaram; Check-in at the hotel; Later visit Thillai Nataraja Temple. Lord Shiva worshipped as the Lord of Dance here. It represents the Aagaya Lingam (sky) and has one of the tallest Gopuram in India. The sculptures of Chidambaram inspired the postures of a dance form called Bharat Natyam. Overnight stay at the hotel.

    Day 5Chidambaram- Trichy

    Today, check out from the hotel and drive to Trichy. Check-in at the hotel and relax a while. Later visit The Jambukeshwar temple which is in Thiruvanaikaval located in Srirangam Island. The shiva linga here signifies the element water and sanctum has an underground water stream. This ancient temple is dedicated to Shiva and Parvati. Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Jambukeshwar and goddess Parvati is worshipped here as Akhilandeshwari. Also, visit Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple. Overnight stay at the hotel.

    Day 6Trichy- Departure

    Today check out from the hotel and you will be dropped at the airport or railway station at Trichy.
