Upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be met by our Airport Representative and will be transferred to Kandy. Enroute visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage which has one of the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. It is established in 1975 to protect the many orphaned elephants stranded in the jungles. Then proceed to Kandy. Check into the hotel and relax for the day. Overnight stay at your hotel, Kandy.
After breakfast, you are engaged to do a city tour of Kandy. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya and Temple of the tooth- one the most revered Temples by the Buddhists as it abodes the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. It is built during the 17th Century and located in the city centre, overlooking the picturesque Kandy Lake. Late afternoon enjoys a ride around the city of Kandy followed by a shopping expedition. After Breakfast check out from the hotel to board the train from Peradeniya to Hatton/ Nanu Oya. This journey is considered as one of the most scenic railway journeys through the highlands of Sri Lanka. As you pass through the lush green tea estates you could not help but indulge in the unmistakable aroma of pure Ceylon tea. The mist-covered mountains and the scenic waterfalls truly compliment this beautiful landscape. Then drive to the hotel. Check into the hotel and spend your day relaxing. After breakfast gets ready for a “Tea Experience where you will visit tea plantations and tea processing factory and also tea plucking. Here you have the chance to pluck teas on your own. You will be provided with a basket in which you can collect your leaves and the professional tea pluckers will accompany you to assist you to pluck leaves. Return to the hotel and relax the rest of the day enjoying the surroundings. Overnight stay at your hotel, Nuwara Eliya.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Then drive to Colombo. Check into the hotel and relax for a while. Later in the afternoon proceed for a panoramic sightseeing tour of Colombo- the commercial capital of Sri Lanka is a blend of both historic value and modern vibes. The colonial buildings influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British exist alongside structures built in Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, Indian and contemporary architectural styles. Visit National museum- built by British in 1877, Galle Face Green- Seaside area, Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara – the place is believed to have been visited by Buddha himself, Gangaramaya Temple, and Dehiwala Zoo. Return to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at your hotel, Colombo.
After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and you will be dropped at Colombo international airport for your return journey.
