Arrive Cochin airport/railway station and drive to Thekkady the picturesque spectrum of exotic flora and fauna. Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks. This place is considered as a heaven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and clove. Go for a boat cruise on the Periyar Lake. Boating will take approximate 2 hours and you can also get rare glimpses of wild animals. Relax for the day and overnight stay at the hotel.
Today, get ready for a full day trekking. The trekking starts at 8 in the morning and ends in the evening. The route passes through undulating terrains. The trekkers could glimpse the lofty escarpments bordering the park watershed and the vast plains down below. Sight the animals like Gaur, sloth bear, elephant and birds & butterflies. Evening back to the hotel and relax for the day. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Today, go for a Tiger Trail. This Trekking Programme starts at 09.00 am on the first day and ends by noon on the second day. Normally about 20 km trekking distance will be covered and usually, it takes about 4 hours to reach base camp. One may get a chance to encounter many indigenous Birds and mammals like Nilgiri Langoos, Sambar deer, Wild Boar, Indian Goat, Malabar Giant Squirrel, Elephants and Tigers. During the trek, one will be crossing grasslands, teak forest and a wide variety of tropical trees and flowering plants. Overnight stay at the tent.
Trek back to Thekkady and then proceed to Cochin airport/railway station for your onward journey.
